Hi, though I am not a regular user of the National Forums, after having had enough of a search around the various forums operating here in Australia, I reckon it’s the one I need to be making this post in. The total post is around 2400 words.

I have a complaint to make against the government about the conditions in the prisons. Yet my complaint is also against all the population of Australians who have some notion of how bad it can be, but whom are reticent to uncover the story and remedy the problem.

However, within my complaint, the facts to my knowledge, are so insidiously horrendous, that we all might suppose that there is every excuse for having not changed the story before now.

That story, in brief, according to my own experience of the world, goes something like this:
The British invaded with their most skilled convicts, who they put to work setting up a colony to attract free settlers into, and then proceeded to enable to the likes of Mr Batman, to profit from the situation;
one of the consequences is that the land was named Terra Nullius and the basic humanity of Aboriginality denied, even now after citizenship was granted in 1967, prior ownership recognised in 1988, and the apology voiced in the word sorry in 2008, the basic never ending quality of responsible human occupation of land is still denied in the constitution, and Aboriginal Australians are disproportionately highly represented in the Australian prisons;
In late 1986 there was a television programme on the ABC’s four corners, presented by Andrew Ollie, called “Out of Sight, Out of Mind” which highlighted the situation, and sparked a higher level of public concerns, which enabled the Committee to Defend Black Rights, to succeed in their demands for a Royal Commission into Black Deaths in Custody, but the set recommendations from that Royal Commission are not being implemented as yet;
I have met two of the black men interviewed in that television programme, both of whom are now qualified to work as counsellors for men in the prisons system, and both assert that the conditions in prisons today, across the country, are worse than in 1986;
I have met a white man whom has been in prison, but known there to have an indigenous identification, and whom asserts that despite the rampant racism in the prisons, at the bottom line, there is something essentially the same about the way black and white men are being treated, but racism is being used as a weapon to prevent that fact being open;
Altogether I have spoken with as many as fifteen Aboriginal, and non-Aboriginal, men who have been in prison, and a couple of Aboriginal women also, and the story is the same, that nobody who goes into the prisons escapes being brutally bashed and raped repeatedly, and made to fear for their lives;
I have spoken with a man who used to teach literacy in the prisons, and was himself bashed and raped by prison security, after escaping being framed for bringing in drugs, and he tells me that all the prisoners know, but are afraid to say, (as indeed he is), that all the prison food is being laced with amphetamines to force the gaol inmates to need to buy other drugs to be able to sleep;
I am also told that there are long term prison inmates inside the prisons who have been so badly abused over time, that their only motivation is to kill, and that such men can barely communicate at all.

Now, you would think that all that alone is bad enough wouldn’t you, and that we need not have to ever face any worse facts that these existing. But there is worse yet.

First just step back from the data which I have my own empirical evidence of, yet can not reveal for the sake of the safety of myself and others. Consider this: for the average Aussie male, if the ultimate sanction society condones, to prevent him from bashing and raping his missus, is to lock him up into a situation in which he will be undoubtedly bashed and raped himself, within an openly acknowledged fear of being murdered if he does not go along with the scenario; then the truth is that every man who has every felt any urge to harm his wife/girlfriend, and who resists that urge, is doing so because of his own realisation of the need for self discipline, and not because of the social standards anticipated by all of us through police and courts.

Actually, if men really are bad enough to not care about bashing and raping a woman, then fear of being bashed and raped themselves might be all that could prevent them from hurting women. That is, if men really are that bad, which in most instances, I doubt.

Meanwhile, the problem includes facts such as that there are still cases of men who were imprisoned as juveniles, and moved into an adult prison before turning eighteen, and whose crimes were no worse than having been getting into drunken fights with their mates, and not having a safe retreat from police attention through their family home. There are enough younger men in the prisons who began no worse than Corey Worthington, that we all need to sit up and take notice. Many began as far more affable and kindly minded young men, than Corey is ever likely to become.

Now consider these facts:
We all have been given the impression, usually by almost any former prison inmate, and every bit of publicity existing about the prisons, that the people whom are most of all victimised in prison, are the so called “rock spiders”, that is, those men known to have been abusing a child;
Not all of the men in prisons who are branded as rock spiders, and tattooed as such, are child abusers, and many in fact, are those men for whom the idea is most appalling;
In prisons there are other men, whom are child sex offenders, whom are not being branded as such, and whom carry themselves within a delusion, that they will escape the penalty of their own conscience, by having forced other men to be mistaken for a child rapist, through the system of various ways that prisons, and the organised crime among prison inmates, brands people;
Some of the more intelligent men who have been inmates of gaols, have learned aspects of the psychology in which ritualised abuse is conducted, often even through undertaking tertiary study from within prison, and are being used within the prisons, but other more brutal men, to coerce any new inmate into set codes of behaviour;
Sometimes their coercion contains a pattern in which they communicate to one another about how to escape the worst brutality, by becoming a participant in branding those who will not engage in raping other men, as the rock spiders;
Many enough men whom have been in the prisons, have learned such foul play in human psychological management, that they cannot engage in normalised social interactions thereafter, without “coaching” anybody else they meet, into exposing women and children to abuse;
Many men who have been in prisons will not go back into straight relationships thereafter, but prefer to stay in gay men’s type relationships, only because they are afraid of exposing women and children to any knowledge of what has been done to them;
Many of the women, whom have taken up relationships with men whom have been in prison, find, that if they are unwilling to go along with certain life styles and living conditions, in which any and all knowledge, about the mechanisms of organised crime can be protected and never disclosed, that they themselves become branded with the same reputations as men branded as rock spiders receive, that is whether or not any actually are abusive towards children;
Women whom ever attempt to disclose what they had learned through relationships with men whom have been in prison, or were otherwise involved in organised crime, find themselves being threatened with violent rapes, to force them into drug addiction and prostitution;
In brothels, it is those women, whom are being punished by being expected to be used by actual child rapists as their clients, and in particular the Gold Coast seems to attract such clientele from among men who are tailing off their journey through illegal child prostitution trails in South East Asia;
I have known two prostitutes whom were forced to have children to make themselves more valuable to a pimp, who sells them as a mother who is able to be blamed for the clients assaults upon children;
The abuse of men in prisons is able to be acknowledged by the victims in the prisons, as supporting and sponsoring such prostitution;
This information is dangerous for even myself to expose, and thereby, I expect to find that the academics who needed to know about these things, so as to advise government, might be unlikely to ever have been able to find out, while also sustaining an academic career, (which is more or less the sort of life story I got stuck with quite by accident).

Now if you are not shocked yet, I can tell you that the full details of what goes on are further shocking, but too mentally abusive to so much as want to conceive of as possible, and so I will not portray all I know here.

When will Australians wake up to the nature of the problem happening in the gaols, being a problem which is already potentially effecting very many of us.

In general the patterns of recovery need to be very careful about language use patterns, and so often my writing forms sequences and patterns which may seem odd, but are as odd as it is, only so as to avoid the language forms in which abuse was perpetrated against me.

That abuse was initially most often by those who were not entirely intentional about being abusive, but whom lead to those who were fully intentional about attempting to cause multiple personality disorder, these days known as “Dissociation Identity Disorder”, as their means to silence me. An effort specially made against anybody who “finds out” or “tells”, but who will not behave as equitably culpable. This experience is one in which has been necessitated the efforts of many of the Aboriginal men who have been in prisons, to help me, so as to enable me to provide this much information. Therefore it is expensive information to know, so do not fret if you are finding it unbelievable, since many folk are likely to. The seed to sow for recovery from the mental health crises being caused by abuse that has been enabled in the prisons, is that it requires a vast memory for every set of abusing meanings being woven into the language we use, meanings often only recognised as political type traps about what the economy is based upon, and in which the victims at the bottom of the whole money tree, are those whom I am describing, who are without any social and economic means of escape from being blamed for what is not ours to have done against every child. That is what is happening to far too many younger Aboriginal men, and we, as a total society have to begin to take full responsibility.

Thanks for reading, and if you are the sort of person who has nightmares easily, I ought to inform you that in Aboriginal communities there are a number of different sorts of flora and fauna which exorcisms of prison inmates dreams are enabled through identification with. Most are invertebrates, such as the mud crab and the oyster, or yabbies, lobsters, marine bugs, and prawns, and it will certainly help to savour the whole story with saltbush, these days available in most supermarkets. For children only, the exorcism of fears which are caused by association with prison inmates, happens through the clan I belong to, who own the sugar glider story.

You may or may not yourselves believe in the Aboriginal cultural influence of exorcisms and shamanism in general as an effective technique, but at least accept that sitting by the sea nearby the mud crabs, will be far less distressing ideal to dream, than what is being force upon prison inmates, by other inmates, being enabled by guards, to impose penalties upon, often teenage victims, for what the brothels and pornography industry have made for sale. According to Aboriginal cultural values, it is truly a worthy and accessible way to assist the innocent victims in the prisons, to go down to the sea and have a good look for what sorts of exo-skeletal invertebrate creatures you might be able to find, and then consider your own memories of the imagery of those creatures, as being able to become accessible to the many men who do not even have a window to get a good look at the natural world through. Become a pen-pal of a man in prison, if you are a cautious enough person to be able to manage it without saying anything likely bring undue attention upon any inmates.
